There are few places in the country better suited for buying or selling a home than the Greater Richmond Region of central Virginia. The city and its surrounding areas boast a number of powerful “pull” factors, including a strong economy, an expanding job market, a thriving cultural life, and numerous historical buildings and neighborhoods. In addition, the region benefits from a close proximity to the U.S. capital, Washington D.C. (as well as to a number of other historical sites and the scenic Atlantic coast.)

While the economy and housing market across this region are doing well, a few areas in particular are especially worth considering. Below you will find a list of some of our favorite areas in the region based upon a number for factors including (but not limited to) the home buying market.

  • The Fan (Richmond, VA)

The Fan district is one of Richmond, Virginia’s most famous neighborhoods. It features an eclectic mix of students, families, and professionals, and is located in the heart of the city.

  • Bellevue

Bellevue is located just north of the Richmond city limits, and offers all the benefits of suburban life while still being located very close to the city center. A quick five minute drive in one direction will allow you to enjoy the action of a vibrant modern city, while a similar drive in the other direction will allow you to enjoy the peace and quiet of rural virginia.

  • Petersburg

Located just 23 miles south of Richmond, Petersburg is by no means isolated from big city life. However, it offers a sense of small town peace and quiet that is difficult to find elsewhere. A town of great industrial and historical importance, Petersburg rests quietly on the banks of the Appomattox river.

  • Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg is a small town located near the exact midpoint of Richmond, Virginia, and our nation’s capital. This picturesque community represents small town America at its finest, while offering a quick and easy commute to two of the most important metropolises in the country.
